What is proofing?

In pest control proofing is works that exclude pests or wildlife from areas we don't want them in. This can take many forms and can be applied to many birds and animals. We use materials that are specific to the problem.

Bird netting comes in sizes that prevent certain sizes of birds passing through. Mesh is the same where mammals are concerned.

We recently completed 2 proofing jobs in Aberdeen. The first was excluding red squirrels from a domestic loft, we waited until the 3 young kits were weaned and leaving the loft to feed themselves before we proofed the access points to prevent them getting back in.

The second was some netting repairs to a bin compound near Aberdeen Airport. Birds accessing bins for a food source can lead to flocking which creates a risk of bird strike for the aircraft therefore mitigating this risk is vital.

If you have a potential conflict anywhere in Scotland with pests or wildlife and need mitigation through proofing or any of our other services then please get in touch on service@abzpest.co.uk to book a free consultation appointment.
